Welcome to Northern Michigan Metal Art!

We are a small Agricultural based Fabrication Business in the Farming community of McBain, Michigan with a combined experience of 40 years in the metal working industry. We have the knowledge, equipment and imagination to provide you with the highest quality metal art available.

All of our pieces are originals, they are not reproductions from a purchased art disk. We have over 300,000 graphics at this time, and they are used in combination to achieve unique pieces that in most cases are just a little bit different each time their produced. Powder Coat is the primary finish that is used and is available in many colors. True rusted items with a clear Powder Coat finish are also available.

Most of the art work is cut from 14ga. Mild steel, but we can cut up to 1 1/4” plate. Custom, personalized items are available in many forms. Visit our Product Gallery to view examples of just some of our work and then feel free to Contact Us and we'll bring your creative idea or vision into reality.

A word about finishes...

All items we offer are available with three basic finishes Powder Coat, Rusted and the most popular, Flame colored

Powder Coat is a process where a powder is electrostatically applied and then the part is “baked” in an oven for a set time. The powder then melts to form a completely sealed surface. It’s available in many colors from Low Gloss to High Gloss and Translucent finishes.

True rusted finishes are done two different ways;

The first process is the new metal is cut to the desired pattern, sand blasted and then placed into a “steam bath” for as little as 16 hours, allowed to dry and then clear Powder Coated.

The second process is a little more natural, but takes up to 6 weeks. New steel is blasted then placed out side to deal with the elements. After the material has a sufficient rust coating, the desired shape is cut. This method makes the rust on the cut surface darken up to 3/16” from the edge. This makes the cut edges or letters really stand out.

We clear coat all rusted pieces unless you request us not to. This way they can be hung on any wall with out the possibility for leaving a stain on the surface.

Thank you!
